Comprised of charming heritage villages, the region boasts a flourishing agrotourism with traditional farms, organic vegetable farms, orchards, vineyards, artisanal cheese shops, and other producers. The mountains here are an extension of the Appalachians, and provide a hiker’s paradise with a variety of trails.

Its peak, at 713 m, offers a spectacular view of the eastern part of the Eastern Townships, northward towards the St. Lawrence Valley, east to Mont Megantic, and west and southwest towards Sherbrooke and Mont Orford.
Mont Pinacle
One of the most popular hiking spots in the Eastern Townships, Mont Pinacle is a beautiful mountain located between Sherbrooke and the Vermont border. Topping out at 665 m, your breath will be taken away by the views from the summit. You can look almost straight down at the beautiful Lac Lyster and suntan on the exposed rocky surfaces. Views towards Vermont are amazing. You may also be lucky enough to watch rock climbers tackling the cliffs. And if you are really, lucky, you’ll see peregrine falcons patrolling the air around the summit and over the lake, as Mont Pinacle is a protected nesting ground.

Our hike will take us across one of the longest suspended footbridges in North America (169 metres, 50 metres high), offering stunning views of the valley and surrounding area. Located west of Sherbrooke and just north of the town of Magog, Mont Orford National Park is a 60 km2 provincial park offering year-round outdoor adventures. The Park offers incredible views thanks to the 5 peaks that call it home. Mont Chauve peaks at just under 600 m and is the second-highest peak in the park.
